COVID Readiness

We are excited to have the chance to play again! The Bristol Soccer Club is dedicated to returning to play in a fun, yet safe way.  We will be making all efforts to comply with government directives as well as state and local health guidelines.  As the Covid-19 pandemic continues to evolve, some of our practices and procedures may need to change as well.  We greatly appreciate your cooperation as we navigate these uncertain times.

Players:

Players should be healthy and not exhibiting any signs of illness.  If a player does become ill or exhibits any signs of Covid-19, please notify the club immediately.  The most recent list of symptoms can be found here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html

  • Players will need to wear a mask when entering and exiting the field and when seated on the sidelines.  Players should remove masks when playing.  Ear loop style masks only.
  • Players should bring and use hand sanitizer at every practice and game.
  • Players should have all of their own equipment and water bottles.
  • All equipment (clothing, cleats, shin guards, balls, etc.) should be sanitized after every practice and game.
  • Players should place belongings 6 feet from each other.
  • No sharing of equipment, water or food.
  • No group celebrations, high-5s, hugs, handshakes, fist-bumps, etc.

Parents/Spectators:

Notify the club immediately if your child becomes ill or if anyone in your household tests positive for Covid-19 or comes into contact with someone who tests positive.  Please refer to the CDC guidelines for a list of Covid-19 symptoms. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html

  • Consider not carpooling or very limited carpooling.
  • Please don't congregate under the pavilion.  We recommend you stay in your car during practices.  Please adhere to social distance requirements.
  • Mask are required at all times when at the Bristol Soccer Club, even when social distancing.  Spectators under the age of 2 are not required to wear masks.
  • When at games, please maintain six feet between families on the sidelines.  Space will be limited so we ask that you limit the number of spectators at games to just those living in the player's household.

Coaches:

  • Coaches are also required to wear a mask at all times, regardless of social distancing.
  • Equipment is to be handled by coaches only and sanitized after each practice.  Players should not be assisting with equipment.
  • There will be no use of scrimmage vests or pinnies.

Travel Advisory:

If the player, or anyone in the player's household, travels to a restricted state (as set forth in the Governor's current Executive Order), the player will not be allowed to participate in any practices, games or activities for 14 days.  The latest list of restricted states can be found here: https://portal.ct.gov/Coronavirus/travel

Some other notable changes due to Covid-19:

Bathrooms at BSC will be closed.  Please plan ahead.

Instead of playing all Micro and Midget games at the same time, game times will now be staggered to allow for extra space between fields, to limit capacity and control the flow of traffic on and off the fields.

The recreational season will be six weeks.
