BRISTOL SOCCER CLUB
TRAVEL TEAM TRYOUTS
REGISTRATION NOW OPEN
Bristol Soccer Club is pleased to announce tryouts for the 2012/2013 season. The program is designed for players who want to play soccer in a more competitive environment against similar caliber teams from neighboring clubs. Teams practice twice a week with a professional coach from UK International. Typically teams play games on both Saturdays and Sundays each weekend. Contrary to urban myths and legends most travel games are within a 25 to 35 minute travel window and half our games are played in neighboring towns.
Tryouts for teams will take place from May 21st through May 25th. Players must register in their age appropriate divison at www.bristolsoccer.org no later than Friday, May 19th. Players new to Travel must bring a copy of their birth certificate to the first try out session. Players who do not pre-register will be unable to participate. It is improtant that the players be at both tryout sessions. From these tryouts, our evaluation committee will evaluate the players for selection. Teams willl have rosters of 14-18 players.
Tryout Schedule:
Girls U08, U09, U10 - Monday, 5/21 & Wednesday, 5/23 5:30p-6:30p
Girls U11, U12, U13/U14 - Monday, 5/21 & Wednesday, 5/23 7:00p-8:00p
Boys U08, U09, U10 - Tuesday, 5/22 & Thursday, 5/24 5:30p-6:30p
Boys U11, U12, U13/U14 - Tuesday, 5/22 & Thursday, 5/24 7:00p-8:00p
Who is eligible?
Any interested player is eligible to tryout for a travel team. Players must play in their appropriate age division if a team is offered for them unless the club determines that playing with older players is in the player's best interest from a developmental standpoint. This option is available on an extremely limited basis and must be approved by the coaches of the involved teams, by the Bristol Soccer Club Travel Committee, and by the UK International travel evaluators.
How are tryouts conducted?
All players must arrive 15 minutes early for their session for sign in and instruction. Players arriving late will not be permitted to participate in the try-out. Players should come to tryouts properly attired for the weather with shin guards, soccer shoes, ball and water. Each session will be conducted by our UK International trainers.
Each year the Board of Directors of the club must evaluate the program, making preliminary decisions on what teams will be offered. We would like to field teams in every age group, but this is not always realistic. Each year, we may be forced to combine certain age groups to field a team. These decisions will be made from a standpoint of what is in the best interest of the entire club.
